John Franke on Inerrancy: "The Bible Contains a Plurality of Truth"
(Can't see the video? Watch it here)
For evangelicals, inerrancy has been a hotbed issue for some time. With the release of Five Views on Biblical Inerrancy last year, a newer voice has jumped into the fray with a newer view.
John Franke, Theologian in Residence at First Presybyterian Church of Allentown, PA, argues that the Bible itself contains plurality, and we must affirm the plurality of truth is by God's design:
If Scripture is truth written, even inerrant truth written; and if Scripture contains plurality; then truth must be a plural matter.
While Franke expects people will be both excited about the diverse discussion and want to reassert the traditional view of inerrancy, he hopes this book will provide space for legitimage dialogue.
Watch Franke express his view and consider how it might contribute to the ongoing dialogue about the nature of God's revelation.
