John Kilner "Why the church needs Bioethics"
Dr. John Kilner has edited a brilliant new volume called Why the Church Needs Bioethics: A Guide to Wise Engagement with Life’s Challenges. In a recent interview with John he discussed the book. It releases this July.
By engaging the incredible medical technologies available today from a biblical and theological perspective, this book equips students, church and lay leaders, and health care professionals to help foster a world in which medical expertise informs our bioethical decisions and human beings are shown respect as people created in the image of God.
John F. Kilner (PhD, Harvard) is the Franklin Forman Chair of Ethics, Professor of Bioethics and Contemporary Culture, and the Director of the Bioethics Program at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois. From the 1994 founding of The Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity in Bannockburn, Illinois until 2005, Dr. Kilner served as the Center’s President and C.E.O. He continues to hold the position of Senior Scholar. Kilner is the author of numerous journal articles and he has written or edited 15 recent books, including Does God Need Our Help?: Cloning, Assisted Suicide, & Other Challenges in Bioethics.
